anne catholic church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the north Dakota Veterans ceme- tery, mandan. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. sunday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a vigil at 7 p.m.

Jerry was born aug. 21, 1932, in Bismarck, to Pete and cecilia (keller) Balzer. He graduated from Devils Lake High school and received his associate de- gree in journalism from Devils Lake community col- lege. in 1953, he enlisted in the u.s. army and was honorably discharged in 1955.

He was a proud veter- an and served as the chairman of the administrative committee on Veterans affairs. Jerry married eunice elaine scharf on June 6, 1955, at st. Jo- seph catholic church in Devils Lake. They built an amazing home to raise their family in Bismarck after residing in Devils Lake and Jamestown. Jerry worked for Job service of north Dakota for over 40 years, starting his career as an unemployment insurance clerk and end- ed his career serving on Gov.

One of many accomplishments was to stew- ard through the passage of the Job Training Partnership act of 1982, which established federal assistance programs to prepare youth and unskilled adults for entry into the workforce and to pro- vide job training to economically disadvantaged and other indi- viduals facing serious barriers to employment. known through- out the halls of the north Dakota capitol as a man of his word, he was highly regarded by those who had the pleasure of interacting with him. Jerry truly cared for people, he once told his son, greatest calling and joy in life is public service, there is nothing better than to serve your fellow a devout catholic, Jerry and his wife eunice were upstanding members of st. catholic church for over 50 years, where Jerry served many years as a eucharistic minister and reader.

He commented that he, tried to be a good steward of his church and community, and example to his Jerry supported many causes but most important to him was the north Dakota school for the Deaf and st. central High school, where his children attended. He was a fervent advocate for the school for the Deaf and loved the work they did. Jerry loved st. football.

He served as a booster club officer and kept current on the team even up to the time of his death. Jerry loved his home state of north Dakota, he and eunice at- tended the 50 consecutive years of the medora musical. Jerry was also a high school football and basketball official and was inducted into the north Dakota Officials association Hall of Fame in 1984. known for his sage advice, he was best known for saying: the best decision you can based on the information you have in the moment and do not judge yourself in hindsight for things you did not Jerry is survived by his wife, eunice; son, Gene kenneth Bal- zer and his wife Lori, their daughter katie and her husband Gavin key, and sons ryne and his wife their daughter addison, and michael and his finance kylie Bowers; son, robert DuWayne Balzer, his wife rosemary, daughter alicia and husband David Farias, their daughter celia, and son corey and girlfriend alexandra Polivanchuk; son Timothy John Balzer, his wife Pam, son alex; daughter, Jerilyn marie renner, her husband randy, and their two daughters, kylie and her husband nathan chapman, and maggie and her husband David mueller; and son, Thomas alan Balzer and his wife Jeni. William Fruhwirth William mathais Fruhwirth, 87, of Grand Forks, passed away peacefully nov. 11 2017, in Valley eldercare center, Grand Forks, sur- rounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on sept. 6, 1930, on the family farm in sykeston, the son of michael and Teresa (La- bor) Fruhwirth. He attended a one room school house in sykeston un- til he moved to carrington to fin- ish his education. Bill was the first in his family to graduate from high school (1948) where he loved com- peting in sports while playing bas- ketball and football. upon grad- uation he worked in the local community until he enrolled in the air Force in 1950.

after completing his four years of service, Bill traveled to california to work in the oil fields. after a year he decided to take advantage of the Gi bill and enrolled at the university of north Dakota in 1956. He graduated in 1959 with a degree in u.s. his- tory and government. While in college he met the love of his life, Gloria Berglund, at the Bar in east Grand Forks, and they were married on Feb.

2, 1957 at st. Thomas aquinas newman center. They welcomed their 1st son Greg in 1958 and upon graduation they moved to Flaxton, where he started his 20-year teaching and basketball coaching career. Bill and Gloria resided in Flaxton from 1959-63, where their son Brian was born in 1960. They moved to Drake in and they welcomed their first daughter, karen.

They resided in Parshall from 1964-69 and Fertile, from 1969- 70, where their second daughter Gloriann was born. They moved to Fessenden in 1970 and final stop in his education career begin in 1974 in Larimore and concluded in 1979. His career coaching record was 351-151 and included seven state appearances. The first was Flaxton in 1963, Parshall in 1965 and 1966, Fessenden 1972, and Larimore in 1975, 1978 and 1979. highlights include a 4th place finish in 1963, 5th in 1979, 2nd in 1975, and was capped in 1978 with his only state champi- onship with a 72-57 win over Belfield.

He was inducted into the n.D. coaches Hall of Fame in 2008. Bill entered private sector in 1979 with his purchase of the Lar- imore insurance agency and upon his retirement, Bill and Gloria moved to Grand Forks in the fall of 2000. Bill was an avid Fight- ing sioux fan for 40-plus years and you would find him cheering on his beloved sioux at every sporting event. Bill is survived by sons, Greg (Barb) of north Platte, and Brian (Denise) of Overland Park, daughters, karen (Dean) Jorgenson and Gloriann (Todd) Trottier both of Fargo; five grand- children Brittany, michael, Justin, Dillon and collin; great-grand- children, Gavin and Grahm.

He leaves behinds his sister, mary Fornshell of Bismarck and his personal friend Donna; a sister- in-law, elaine (mrs. John) Fruhwirth of Huntington Beach, calif. He was preceded in death by wife, Gloria; brothers, alfred, John and ken; sister-in-law, Bonnie (mrs. ken) Fruhwirth and brother- in-law, Jim Fornshell. mass of christian Burial: 10 a.m.

Born aug. 24, 1956, to christ and agnes ressler (Hellman) in mandan, he lived in mandan until 1999. Dave attend- ed mandan schools and gradu- ated from mandan High school in may of 1976. He married Gerri Tveito in march of 1976. in those early years, he worked at standard service, super Val- ue and drove a bus for the mandan school system.

He started working for chase chevrolet in mandan in 1980 as a salesman and finance manager. in 1987, he had the op- portunity to purchase the dealership from ivan Gandrud and add- ed the subaru franchise in 2002. He has been recognized in the car industry with numerous awards throughout his career for his sales, leadership and managerial accomplishments and was a fre- quent chevrolet Legion of Leaders recipient. in the 1990s he fell in love with the Bozeman, area and decided to ask Pat connell of connell chevrolet to sell his deal- ership. By February of 1999, he was the owner of what is now ressler motors.

in January of 2015 he purchased montana import Group which is now Gallatin motors. Dave loved the car business and everything about it. He was a corvette enthusiast and had an extensive collection of invaluable and one-of-a-kind vehicles which includes the oldest corvette and the first 2009 Zr1. He was passionate and generous in his support for communi- ty outreach projects and foundations in Bozeman and mandan. He has been recognized by both communities for his sponsor- ships and participation in charitable events, youth and sports pro- grams, Wounded Warriors Foundation, msu events and activities as well as fund raising for numerous organizations and schools.

most noteworthy is the ressler motors ice rink. if we were to list all his contributions, the pages would be too few. Over the years, several hundred organizations throughout the Gallatin Valley and mandan have been supported regularly by his companies and per- sonal contributions. Dave had great love for his children and grandchildren. The love expressed to him when being called by his grand- children meant the world to him and lit up his life.

micki Golde was born march 19, 1931, to ernest and martha (Walde) Golde in new salem. she received her primary education in a rural school and graduated from mandan High school. On Oct. 5, 1948, micki was united in marriage to Joe m. Braun at the st.

Joseph catholic church in mandan. work took them to vari- ous cities from north Dakota to Denver, returning to north Dako- ta in 1954. she was active in managing and worked in their business, Braun electric, as secretary and bookkeeper until 2004. micki was a member of st. catholic church in carson, where she belonged to the st.

alter society. she was a member of the american Legion auxiliary; involved in Grant county cancer society and the Grant county red cross, as well as serving on the Grant county election Board for 35 years. she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand- mother and enjoyed family gatherings at their home. Her fami- ly was her life. micki will be deeply missed by her daughter, sandy (Jim) Dressler, Las Vegas; sons ron (Bernadette), northwood, Wayne (Becci) and Gary (cheryl) both of new salem; 10 grandchildren, carrie, cammie, Bobbie Jo, aaron, Darin, Bonnie, myles, crys- tal, Jesse, and kristin; 35 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette kaelberer, new salem; sisters-in-law, ann Olson, mandan, LaVina (Fran) Forester, and Lorrene Brown, both of Bismarck; and broth- er-in-law, matt Brown, Glendive, mont.

micki is preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; sister, elsie (Golde) Tellinghusen; and great-grandson, Jamison Braun. Harold Brady was born to al- bert and eleanor Brady on July 27, 1919, in minnesota.

shortly af- ter his birth the family moved to north Dakota for employment with the railroad. Harold worked with his father on the railroad before striking out on his own to start used auto Parts which he operated with his best friend and son, mike Brady. Harold married Pauline Helbing in 1940. They had two children, Dorothy (mike) ru- dick, Yakima, and Terry (kathleen) Brady, auburn Wash. Harold and his second wife, emma, had two children, mike (Gwen) Brady and Pat (marvin) Hager.

Harold was well known for his cu- riosity about the world which endured until the end of his life. He was the founding member of the central Dakota Gem and mineral society and was instrumental in getting teredo wood es- tablished as the n.D. state fossil. He also worked furnishing part of the custer home at Ft. Lincoln state Park and furnishing the Yegan store at Buckstop Junction.

in addition to history, Harold had a lifelong interest in rock collecting and was an amateur ge- ologist. Later in life he took an interest in mayan culture and col- lected many artifacts. in his final days Harold lived at Prospera sunset, and was lovingly cared for by the staff there and the staff of sanford Hospice, along with his devoted family. His was a life truly well lived. a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m.

no services are currently planned. al was born June 21, 1938, at strasburg, to Joseph and katherine (Gefre) Holzer. He was raised and educated in strasburg and gradu- ated high school in 1957. On June 21, 1980, he and Gussie Fox mar- ried. al was an honest, hardwork- ing man that would help anyone who needed it.

His motto was, going to do something, do it right the first He had a good sense of humor, loved to read, and do crossword puzzles. He is survived by his wife, Gussie; three daughters, Dawn (John) nyberg, Gardner, Trish Harmon, Bismarck, alicia (matt) Thomp- son, Bismarck; one son, Barrie (connie) Holzer, Winchester, ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six brothers; seven sisters; and multiple nieces, nephews, and special friends. al was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
