Congressman Tom Kleppe of the North Dakota west district said he had been informed of approval of the loan by Rural Electrification Administration officials in Washington. Joseph Wilhelmi is president-, manager of Midstate Telephone headquartered at Stanley. Kleppe said REA had informed him that the loan will enable Midstate to improve service to 796 present subscribers and extend service to 221 new subscribers. Midstate, a commercial pany, is a new REA boTower, he said. He said Midstate also proposes to acquire, with loan funds, the facilities of the Medora Telephone Company and also of nine telephone services adjacent to the Stanley authorized the State Highway-Department to acquire about 20 miles of railroad right-of-way south of Mandan for scenic enhancement.
