Mandan.

After a trip to Canada, the couple is at home at Mandan. 1 1 if as'" guests, Invited for a weekend on a resort island by a mysterious host, who are systematically murdered one by one. A second performance of the play is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for the Dakota Stage Limited production of "Ten Little Indians" are available from Eckroth Music in Bismarck and Mandan or from cast members.

Reduced price tickets for those wishing to see both Bismarck Junior College's production of "Tartuffe" and "Ten Little Indians" are available at the BJC admissions office. REHEARSAL FOR Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians" is under way in preparation for the opening night performance at 8 p.m. Friday at Bismarck Municipal Auditorium. Cast members include Laurel Case, left, who will portray Vera Claythorne; Gary Ketterling, draped over the sofa as the body of Anthony Mars ton; Marcus Schmidt as a shocked Dr. Armstrong and Terry Sticka as Mr.

Lombard. In the scene, Marston has just proposed a toast with a cyanide-laden drink. His death is the first one of the night. The play concerns eight Search for Playwrights Under Way in Midwest You pull the trigger and a steel ball hits various targets for points. Lights flash, music plays and you may even win a free game if you're lucky on one of the 12 pinball machines.

Vou can try your reflexes at four video machines. Again it's noise-shooting, music and flashing objects on a screen. High scorers for the week on the machines and videos get a free quart of pop. Maybe you want to find a partner and play pool or foosball. Or just have a cola and a cigarette while jawing with a friend in front of the blaring jukebox.

There seems to be little doubt that Mandan's popular spot for the young set is an arcade in a small basement off Main Street called Reva's Electric City. What's the attraction to the arcade where youths spend their school lunch money, allowances and job income? Well it's only a couple blocks from Mandan Junior High School and the kids tell, "It's a good spot to meet our friends. Doors at the school are closed during the noon hour unless you want to sit in the cafeteria. This winter it will be a warm place to hang out and it sure beats hanging out in the streets and alleys." On Friday nights the walls are almost pushed back by 40 and 50 kids. I guess it depends on how much money is in your jeans pocket.

Some say it's not cheap entertainment, but it's entertainment which they can't find elsewhere in Mandan for youths their age. Owner Reva Howes says she's had very little trouble with the youths since opening in May. "We have rules posted and if they don't follow them, we give them about three warnings-then out they go and can't come back. There are absolutely no drugs or alcohol here and no credit given," she emphasized. "We don't try to keep the kids from smoking.

That's between them and their parents," she said. The majority of the patrons are junior high students. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Debra Geller, Ryan Hoerauf Engaged Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Bannach, Grand Forks, announce the engagement of her daughter, Debra Ann Geller, to Ryan C. Hoerauf, son of Mrs. Elaine Hoerauf, Grand Forks and Marvin Hoerauf, Hebron.

Miss Geller, daughter of the late Ralph D. Geller, is a graduate of Aaker's Business College, Grand Forks and is employed by Dr. Roger B. Johnson, D.D.S., Grand Forks. Ryan is a student at the University of North Dakota, majoring in chemical engineering.

The couple plans a June wedding at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks. -v 1 Broadcasts Announced for Bismarck Pupils Elementary school children in the Bismarck Public Schools, along with their parents, are being urged to take advantage of the Prairie Public Television's school broadcast program during vacations and periods of absence. John Culbertson, 825 N. Fourth St. No. 6 at church parlor. "After a Friday night school dance, word gets around 'meet you at Reva's'.

Then sometimes they'll stay open a little later for us," one girl told. Angie Serr, 13, brings a sack lunch to junior high school and then heads down to the recreation spot every noon and on Friday nights. She earns an allowance by working at home, gets $3 a week and spends it all there. Shelley Snider, 13, gets 60 cents a day for school lunch. She buys a sack of chips, a cola or some gum and the rest goes into the machines.

Naneata Frank spends about $4 a week. Again it's her noon lunch money. Joan Bader, 13, earnes her money baby sitting besides an allowance and guesses she spends at least $4 a week playing pool. Jeannie Staudinger, 14, spends her allowance and baby sitting money as a foosball fan. The girls agreed their parents know where their lunch money is going.

The machines' entertainment is quite new to Billy Lipp, 13, who gets an allowance and does yard work to earn the $4 a week he spends there. Kerry Grott, 15, a Mandan High School sophomore, is hung up on the video games. His spending money comes from an allowance. Paul Felch, 14, claims he spends three hours a day at the hangout. The MHS freshman says the money he spends comes from savings from a summer job and whatever allowance he gets.

Ted Sauer, 17, an MHS sophomore, was a general laborer this summer and has had the pinball fever four years. Depending upon the day and how lucky he is, Ted spends from 50 cents to $10 a day at the arcade. Kent Kitzan, 20, a sophomore at Bismarck Junior College, spends three hours a day with his friends at the place shooting pool with his Mandan friends. He's been playing since he was 11 and shells out about $5 a day. Although the majority of customers are in the junior high school age, there are some fathers who play the machines while their children stand by and watch.

And some mothers use it as a baby-sitting center, leaving their five-year-old and $5 for the child's entertaiment while they go shopping.
