Stark will act as an adviser to Northwestern's Student American Chiropractic Association Sports Council, of which he was president from 1994-95. Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization convention held recently in Minot. Jeremy Wald of Maddock won first place in the impromptu public speaking contest with his speech titled "Environmental Issues-Water Quality." The following students won awards in the employment interview contest: Erik Erickson, Ha-zelton, first in Division livestock; Stacey Kohler, Max, first in Division dairy; and Jeremy Wald, Maddock, first in Division crops. Kooker chosen as noted student Angle Kooker has been named this year's distinguished student from Medina-Cleveland High School.

Each year a junior from each North Dakota high school is named as their school's distinguished student, based on contributions to the school in interscholastic activities, community contributions and overall attitude, Kooker is the daughter of Dave and Alice Kooker of Medina. She plays on the girls' basketball team, is a statistician for boys' basketball, competes on the cross country team and girls' track team. The 24th annual festival brought in 53 band and chorus groups, which included more than 1,100 of the area's top student musicians.
